Hotels in Ganpatipule

MTDC Resort

Nothing can beat ganpatipule hotels MTDC Resort’s location in Ganapatipule; right off the beach and very close to town’s main attraction, the Ganapati Temple! Ganapatipule-bound State Transport buses terminate right in front of the resort. It’s a large property, sitting atop a small hillock, overlooking the sea. All the rooms, air-conditioned or not, have fantastic sea-views. So it’s a great place to stay!

Our double-room was quite large with a lovely balcony looking out to the sea. It had ample closet space and a color TV as well. The bathroom was large and functioned well. Overall it was a very comfortable room. However, just like the one in Harihareshwar, this property would do well with a bit of updating too. The buildings look old and worn and at least a fresh coat of paint is desperately needed!

There is an on-site restaurant and an Ayurvedic massage center as well.

Abhishek Beach Resort

Since MTDC Resort was completely pre-booked for Friday night, we checked into Abhishek Beach Resort. It’s located about a couple of kilometers away from the temple area, which gives it a nice secluded feel. Beach access is across the street and ‘a 7-minute away’ as advertised by the staff. Unfortunately, Madhu and I didn’t get a chance to test this out.

The hotel has nicely maintained grounds and a separate play-area for kids as well. It also has an on-site restaurant and bar on the ground floor. The rooms are on the floors above and have a fantastic view out to the sea. The hotel structure, the reception area, the restaurant and even the hallways are not very impressive in terms of design and style. They are nice, no doubt, but nothing compared to the rooms. They are a true WOW! Their design, furnishings and fixtures were all really nice! We were quite impressed! And for a change, the design of the bathroom matched the rest of the room too . In fact, this was probably the best bathroom we’ve encountered in our trip so far!

Same day laundry service was available; something we hadn’t found throughout the Konkan Coast.
