Route : Kochi → Munnar Trek → Thekkady / Periyar → Backwaters → Trikunnupazha → Kochi

Itinerary

Day 1 Kochi (Cochin)

Kochi, a major port city on the west coast of Kerala, straddles the backwaters, encompassing the northern end of a peninsula, several islands and a portion of the mainland.

Visit fragrant spice bazaars, antique shops, Mattancherry Palace and Fort Cochin. Enjoy an exciting Kathakali dance performance in the evening.

Days 2-3 Munnar

Munnar is a beautiful hill station, is famous for its tea plantations, many of them started by the British.

Eravikulam national park is one of the main tourist attractions, where you can spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Treks to Rajamala is also a popular for those who enjoy the outdoors. The region is rich in wildlife, which includesGaur, Langur, Lion-tailed macaque, and Elephants.

Popular attractions include Atukkad Waterfalls, Chithirapuram, Blossom Park, and Pothamedu View Point..

Days 4-8 Trek

Go off on a 4-day trek into the heart of Kerala, one of India’s most beautiful and colorful regions. Weave through coffee, cotton, coconut and mango plantations, stand in the shade of red Rhododendrons, clamber over dramatic ridges and climb some of India’s tallest peaks for unrivaled views over the countryside. Along the way meet local villagers and cool off in pristine waterfalls.

Days 9-10 Thekkady / Periyar

Thekkady is enchanting place with winding roads, tranquil countrysides, rich plantations and thick forests.

The Periyar National Park, centered around a large lake, supports a diverse range of animals including 62 species of mammals, 320 species of birds, 45 species of reptiles, 27 species of amphibians, and 38 species of fishes.

Enjoy safaris and walks in the park and end your evenings with an Ayurveda massage.

Day 11 Kerala Backwaters Houseboat

Kick back and relax on a boat ride through the Kerala backwaters, a region that is renowned for its laid back vibes and incredible cuisine.

Day 12 Trikunnupazha

Cruise along the coastline to Trikunnupazha and relax in a riverside resort. In the afternoon, head out to some villages to learn more about traditional Indian life.

Day 13 Kochi (Cochin)

Return to Kochi and visit a few of the remaining attractions before your next connection.
