Itinerary
Day 1 Indore
Situated on the Malwa plateau along the banks of Sarswati and Khan rivers, Indore has beautiful monuments from the Holkar dynasty.
Top attractions include Rajawada, Lal Baag Palace, and the Cenotaphs.
Days 2-4 Mandu
Mandu, a celebration in stone of life and joy, is a tribute to the love shared between the poet-prince Baz Bahadur and his consort, Rani Roopmati. the local balladeers still sing of their euphoric romance.
Top attractions include Jahaz Mahal, Jami Masjid, Tomb of Hoshang Shah, Afharfi Mahal, Rani Roopmati Pavillion and Baz Bahadur’s Palace.
Day 5 Maheshwar and Omkareshwar
Situated on the banks of the Narmada river, Maheshwar is known for its temples, bathing ghats and exquisitely woven Maheshwari saris.
Set in picturesque surroundings, Omkareshwar is situated on the confluence of Narmada and Kaveri. One of the twelve ‘Jyotirlingas’ in India is enshrined here in Shri Omkar Mandhata.
Day 6 Bhopal (via Bhimbetka)
Located in the Vindhya mountain range, Bhimbetka is home to over 600 rock shelters which have paintings that date back to the stone age.
Bhopal has charming market places, beautiful mosques and quaint palaces that still bear the aristocratic imprint of its former rulers.
Day 7 Sanchi
Sanchi is known for its stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD. The Sanchi Stupa was originally built by Emperor Ashoka.
Day 8 Bhopal
End the journey by exploring some of the monuments in the old city of Bhopal.
