The thick forest of Bandhavgarh National Park sits in a bowl, encircled by cliffs and the wooded Vindhyan mountains.
The adjoining villages of Mardari and Gohori are the inspiration for the architecture of the lodge. The walls are constructed with the traditional hand moulded bricks and all building material has been locally procured. The Lodge also uses solar energy and does extensive rain-water harvesting to recharge ground water levels.

The Samode Safari Lodge has been designed and built with minimal impact to the environment. No trees were cut during the construction of the property.
