Ramgarh Shekhawati

Ramgarh, a town surrounded by sand dunes, in the Shekhawati region was once amongst the richer towns in India. It was a centre of learning and was also known as Doosra Kashi (Second Varanasi). It is now a treasure trove of painted temples, havelis, and cenotaphs.

Shani Temple

The Shani temple, devoted to the Saturn god, was built by the Khemka family in 1840.

It is known for its mirror work and ultramarine murals. Ultramarine is a blue pigment occurring in nature as a proximate component of lapis lazuli.
