Kothi Heritage

Jodhpur Hotels : Kothi Heritage

This is a nicely restored 19th century jodhpur hotels Rajasthani Kothi (bungalow) with all the modern amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. This heritage hotel located within walking distance of the city’s bus stand and about 10 minutes’ auto ride from the train station. Since this is in the newer parts of town, outside the fort walls (about Rs.70 for an auto ride from here to the fort or old city market), the area is relatively less congested but also less atmospheric.

We arrived in Jodhpur by an overnight train at 6:30am in the morning and were pleasantly surprised to be shown to our roomimmediately. The double room was large enough to hold a small sitting area, a queen-sized bed, a wall-mounted flat screen TV and an armoire for storage. The bathroom was nicely updated to include all modern amenities and a large hot-water geyser.

Breakfast was included in the room rent and this included tea/coffee with paranthas jodhpur hotelsor idlis and toasts. It was served in a small lawn at the back of the Kothi, which was quite nice. However, the Kothi’s living room (around which the rooms are set) with double-storey ceiling is now a formal dining area where most meals are served. This is the prettiest part of the Kothi and a nice place to lounge in the evenings. The hotel is being managed by a youngster who is part of the family that owns the property. He was efficient, courteous and more than willing to help with travel plans and suggestions.

This surely looks great! I am also a fan of staying at such heritage spaces.
