Hotel Grand Plaza

Located nicely in the south-central part of sprawling Hyderabad, Hotel Grand Plaza provided us with a comfortable stay for 3 nights. The first night that we were there, only one of their Executive rooms was available. But we were able to check into a Standard room for the following 2 days.

The executive room was larger than the standard room and hyderabad hotel grand plaza had a bathtub but apart from that there was little to differentiate between the two. Since the standard room was better priced (Rs.1600 as opposed to Rs.2000 for executive) and of a fairly moderate size, we found it to be a much better deal. The room had everything we needed: an armoire for storage, vanity mirror and table, comfortable queen-sized bed and cable TV. The bathroom was neat with good fixtures and hot water was available throughout the day.

Breakfast was included in the tariff and this was quite convenient as they have a nice restaurant near the lobby area. It was a buffet spread of South Indian items like Idlis, Uttapams or Upmas with bread, cereals, juice and coffee/tea – the usual stuff!

The hotel is located within a kilometer of the Nampally railway station and is quite close to the south end of the Hussein Sagar Lake as well. Since it’s on a main street, finding buses or auto-rickshaws for getting around was never a problem.

Staff at the hotel was professional and courteous. Overall, it was a great stay!
