The Lotus Hotel is probably one of the nicest places we’ve stayed so far in Gujarat, in terms of value for money. It’s a new hotel built with clean, modern lines and contemporary designs. It’s centrally located in Junagadh and is a great place to stay and explore the rest of the city.
We got a spacious, air-conditioned double-room with a LCD TV on the 1st floor of the hotel. In fact, all the rooms are on the first floor; only the hotel lobby and reception area are on the ground floor. There is no restaurant but room service is available, which was perfect. Since Junagadh is not particularly famous for its cuisine or restaurants, we ate practically all meals in our room. They were reasonably priced and well-made.
Since Madhu was feeling a little under the weather, this was a great place for us to put our feet up and relax.
They claimed to have wireless internet but neither Madhu’s laptop nor mine could get a connection. This was the only hitch in the entire stay.
Rating: 8 out of 10 (would have rated it a 9 if the wireless connection had worked).
