Khajuraho Hotels : Hotel Zen

Our Orchha hotel’s (Hotel Shri Mahant) staff recommended Hotel Zen to us. When we checked online the hotel looked quite good. Plus it had great reviews on TripAdvisor as well. And rightly so!

The hotel is located on a busy street, within 5 minutes (on foot) of the western group of temples. Most stores and restaurants in the area are within walking distance too. The hotel is housed in a small 3-storey structure, which looked quite cramped and unkempt as we walked into its front lobby. And this is mainly because the building is still partly under construction. All the rooms have been built out but the stairs connecting the 3 floors are still incomplete. This creates a kind-of chaotic look. However, the rooms are really, really nice!

Our double-room was nicely sized, with a nicely furnished double-bed, a color TV and a modern bathroom with a bathtub. We really enjoyed our 3-night stay here. It was very comfortable!

The staff was warm and helpful too, except for one elderly gentleman at the reception. Every time we asked him for something, he would just nod and either not do it or get someone else to do it . Lord knows why he is employed there!

Food and laundry service at the hotel were a tad too expensive.

      Hi Kaushik,
I do not remember how much we paid for – definitely sub 1500.
      Cheers!
