Mathura Museum : Mathura Archaeological Museum

Located at Dampier Park, the Mathura Museum houses the items discovered in the archeological excavations from Mathura and adjacent area.

Buddha

The museum was founded by Sir F.S Growse in 1874, who was the district collector at that time.

The museum houses nearly 6000 stone sculptures, 400 paintings, 3000 terracotta figures and 350 metal figures.
