Nubra Valley Hotels : Sand Dune Guest House
Housed in a traditional Ladakhi structure, the Sand Dune Guest House is probably one of the nicest places to stay at in Diskit. It’s set around a simple, pretty courtyard and is walled-in with enough parking space for about 4 or 5 cars within. Rooms with shared bathrooms come for as cheap as Rs.200 while double-rooms with attached bathrooms such as ours were for Rs.500 – very reasonable!
The guesthouse is being renovated and the double-rooms 
on the upper floors look almost brand new. Ours was a corner room with windows on 2 sides bringing in lots of light. It was of a comfortable size with enough room for a chair and vanity mirror and table. Thick comforters and fresh towels were provided, which felt luxurious for a Rs.500 room! Faux wood paneling on the walls gave the room a cozy, almost cabin-like, feel. The attached bathroom was really nice; clean with new faucets and fixtures. Overall, we were quite impressed!
The hotel’s on-site restaurant is a nice space with low, Ladakhi-style seating against the walls. We had breakfast there and found the food to be quite well-made and tasty; wish we had had dinner there as well!
