Aurangabad Caves

The original name of Aurangabad was Khirki, which means a ‘window’ or an ‘entrance’. The Aurangabad caves are located on Sihaychal hills running from east to west, about 2 km from the Bibi-ka-Maqbara.

Unfortunately these magnificent caves have been overshadowed by the world heritage monuments of Ellora and Ajanta cave temples.
