Narkanda : Trek to Daru Village

Daru, a small hamlet with about 15 houses, is about 5 Kms from Narkanda.

The trail forks off NH-22 right next to the road which leads up to Hatu Peak.

Daru Village

We bumped in Joginder, a Daru resident, just outside the village. He was very friendly (like most Himchalis) and offered to take us to the village temple in the middle of Marijuana and Pea fields. I think the pea plants were more of a decoy.

After our visit to the temple, Joginder insisted that we have a cuppa with him at his newly constructed home.

Since it was getting dark, we bid a hurried goodbye and scrammed.
