Harasar Haveli, Bikaner

Bikaner Hotels : Harasar Haveli

This sprawling hotel was recommended to us by guidebooks as well as a friend in Jaisalmer. So we called in advance to ensure that a room was reserved for us. However when we got there late in the evening, the person at the reception desk was not the same as the one who had answered our call earlier in the day. The new guy had no note or instruction on our reservation – we were appalled. Nevertheless, rooms were aplenty and we didn’t have trouble finding one that we liked.

Located in the geographic center of bikaner hotels harasar haveli Bikaner, the hotel is about equidistant from Lalgarh Palace to the east and the old city and its fort to the west. However, the surrounding area is a little quiet and almost a little desolate. During the day it was easy to find autos waiting outside to take visitors around town, but in the evenings we stayed within the hotel premises and ate at their terrace restaurant. Food and service, though slow, were good and so we didn’t complain.

Our room was huge and well furnished with a small dressing area and a luxurious bathroom. The furniture and decor had an elegant Rajasthani theme. In fact, the entire room looked like it had been renovated quite recently. The rest of the hotel also seemed well-maintained and clean. So comfort-wise it was quite a nice stay. But after the warmth of Jaisalmer’s hotel owners, the business-like attitude of Harasar Haveli, though professional, felt a little cold and impersonal. This seemed to be its only drawback.
