Kasauli Hotels : Hotel Alasia

Hotel Alasia is a 19th century heritage building that was later converted to a hotel. It is strategically located on the Lower Mall road, less than a kilometer from the town’s main bus stand. Accommodation is provided in two buildings that are on opposite sides of the street. We stayed at the one on the eastern side, which is a one-storied structure with about 10 rooms that have been recently renovated; in fact, one of the corner rooms is still under renovation.

Our large double-room was really nice with wood flooring, which we prefer over musty carpets or kasauli hotels cold marble. It had a large dressing area with a vanity mirror, desk and a wooden armoire. The bathroom was really nice, updated and clean. The color TV had a good satellite connection so we could catch the IPL matches at night.

The staff at the hotel was quite friendly making the stay very pleasant. There is an onsite restaurant but we didn’t get a chance to try it as we preferred the food stalls in the bazaar.

Overall, we really enjoyed Hotel Alasia and highly recommend it especially because of its excellent location. It’s a little expensive compared to other hotels of similar caliber but that’s understandable as there are not many options in Kasauli for competition.
