Although the name didn’t sound too appealing to me, Hotel Yamini, turned out to be a great stay option in Palampur. Located in the heart of town, with stores and ATMs within walking distance, this 6-storied building has updated rooms, a gym, banquet halls and on-site restaurant – more than what every traveler needs!
Our double-room was quite large with plenty of storage, a color TV with cable and a large, well-equipped bathroom. It was all clean, updated and quite well-maintained for a budget price!
We did not eat at their restaurant but ordered meals from there to our room. It was good quality food; the sweet lassis were exceptionally good!
Above all, service at the hotel was very warm and courteous at all times, which made it a very comfortable experience. The reception desk was able to arrange a taxi to take us around town for very reasonable rates. They also managed to get us one on an emergency basis when the taxi we had called failed to show up on time on the day we were leaving.
