Nek Chand Rock Garden : One man’s waste is another man’s treasure
Spread over an area of forty acres, Nek Chand Rock Garden, is built with recycled industrial & home materials.

This garden was started secretly in his spare time by Nek Chand, a government official.

Nek Chand started working on the garden in 1957 and it was finally discovered by the local authorities in 1975. By then, it had grown into a 12 acre rock garden.

Nek Chand’s philosophy of recycling long before it was trendy, has propelled him onto the global art scene.
Inspiration from Gaudi?
Sculptures made from recycled ceramic – Some of the pieces had the ‘Parryware’ logos.
The Rock Garden is open daily.
Summer opening hours : 1st April to 30th September 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Winter opening hours : 1st October to 31st March 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
