We bumped into Bharat outside Nagar Sheth’s Haveli. He was more than happy to let us into his havelis. This was the highlight of our Diu trip. We had a great time browsing though his family heirlooms.

Bharat has a working hand-wind Gramaphone. It was quite an experience to browse through his house with old hindi music playing on the Gramaphone.
There was a bottle with honey all the way from Africa.

Bharat has a few statues, medals etc which belonged to Nagar Sheth. The collection also includes 2 pagadis. Unfortunately, some idiot ended up opening up the Pagdis!

The house has an excellent collection of pots. Savi would have loved to take a few with her.
Bharat had opened only a few windows. As a result, it was perfect for pictures!

From here, we proceeded on to his next haveli which was about 500m away. This one was in complete ruins. He has been working on restoring it back to its glory.

The rooms have roots which have penetrated the walls/roofs over time. Bharat plans to keep them intact. It’ll be max cool to stay in these rooms post renovations.
