Kaziranga National Park Pictures
Kaziranga National Park provides visitors with both jeep and elephant safaris. This time around we decided to go for the early morning Elephant Safari.
Foggy morning at the Elephant Station
Kaziranga is the oldest park in assam covering an area of more than 400 Sq kms bounded by the banks of Brahmaputra on the North and the Karbi Anglong hills on the South.
Eastern Swamp Deer
A few centuries ago, the Indian one horned Rhinoceros could be found across the plains of North Indian. Unfortunately today this prehistoric survivor is found only in pockets in the north eastern state of Assam and in Nepal.
Leading the way
Poaching continues to be a threat to these animals. ONGC has been quite active in preservation and conservation of this diverse habitat.
At the water hole
Kaziranga has a rich and diverse population of more 40 species of fish, 9 species of amphibians, 27 species of reptiles, more than 491 species of birds and 35 species of mammals.
Having more than 75% of the entire global population of one horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga National Park is a bastion of diversity.
Not particularly amused by our presence
Back off !!
The mist weaves a common thread through all these photos. Beautiful.
