The Glade (6500 ft above sea level) sits on a small plateau, with a small stream-fed lake in the middle and thick forests along the perimeter.
Khajjiar was named “Mini Switzerland of Himachal Pradesh” by the Swiss Ambassador on July 7, 1992.
It has a rare combination of three ecosystems – lake, pastures and forests, all in one place.
The lake – it gets fairly large during the monsoons

Chana Chat, anyone? I actually saw people having it @ 9 in the morning!

Beautiful place it is for sure! Though am a Himachali, haven’t been there yet for the simple reason that have been out of Himachal since completed my college at REC Hamirpur. Well, going thru ur post, am sure would plan a visit ASAP 🙂
Savita…. I have never been to these parts of HP. I need to plan a trip and make it in the next couple of years. BTW do let me know if you can babysit my kids while we are traveling 🙂
Raj
🙂 Nice to hear from you, Raj! Howz everything? Yeah, HP was an eye-opener for us; never knew it had sooo much. In fact, we have yet to visit the Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur regions there. Will probably head there after we leave Leh.
